Courtesy reminder (友情提示/温馨提醒) for those who just started driving recently:
Whenever you park off streets, always take a bit more of a time to read the parking signs word by ward, plus the arrows. Most likely on the top of of the sign, you will be suggested it is a two-hour parking zone or whatever. It seems a reassurance for you to park there and walk away confidently.
But two hours later, you would possibly come back being startled at a gigantic infringement ticket stuck on the windowscreen. After you take another look at sign, there is possibly a line of much smaller words in red that's telling you: Hey you, please pay this council $141 by the set day. I mean from 7am--8am Mon--Fri, no parking is allowed. Or there's a possible arrow pointing towards where you parked that's laughing at you: Hahaha, got ya--parking is only allowed in the opposite direction, next time when you park here, please keep your eyes wide open---heeeheee, by the way, thank you for your special contribution to council's revenue, it would be nice to see you here again.
From the above alone, I realized some of the councils are very tricky and smart, makes me believe that people need a doctorate degree in language to be eligible for a job in councils. Hehehe |
