The following if what I wrote to Harvey after his de-sex surgery (去性手术). Looking at him waking up from the sedation with eyes all welling up (盈满泪水), I broken down straight away, it seemed that I felt his pain and vulnerability while being over-powered by human being.

He is such a cute and talented boy, who might want to have children of his own and enjoy his fatherhood. But these possibilities and promising future were taken away by me without his permission. Just because I choose his longevity (the possible infections he might suffer if not being de-sexed) and long-term company to me over his possible happiness.  

“Harvey, I now make a pledge to you that I'll love you and nurture you as much as I can afford both emotionally and financially, actually I already consider you a part of family.

I understand we don't share the same emotional world and I can't possibly have you to love me back as much as I love you. But I am more than willing to commit myself to your care, because you showed your defenselessness and powerlessness to whatever human being might have done to you.

I didn't realize what an emotional hell I would possibly go through until I actually saw your eyes full of grievance towards me right after you woke up from this de-sex surgery, you seemed to comprehend what happened to you and grieve over your male-hood loss.

Now I just can't brush away the thoughts: What if I took the risk not have this procedure done to you, would you possibly be spared the hell that might be falling on you, would I be feeling less guilty to you than I actually do now?

I feel so much need to get this out of my chest right now, then, I hope from today onwards, we can both move on to the new era without me facing you with tears always!”

我只有模糊的计划,就是10年内移民悉尼或墨尔本,然后送孩子去另一个国家,然后我各地走一走,然后回国感觉一 ...

But it sounds so soothing as if someone is gently drumming on top

I am not a fan of raining days, but I don't mind listening to the rhythm while comfortably snuggling in bed

EmilyS, sorry I have no choice but carry away from your vacation topic, because you mentioned a word "Mediterranean", it reminded me of a joke my colleague told me about a lady from middle-east.

This lady had a mechanical fall (绊倒) and broke her wrist unfortunately. Throughout her hospitalization, she stayed in bed doing absolutely nothing but being waited on (被人伺候着) by family members and nurses. When the nurse who had been ordered around by this lady was asked about what went on with the patient, the nurse said about her wrist fracture and her resulting bed-bond (卧床不起) and boss-people-around behaviours, ending up in the conclusion: I am not sure how the wrist fracture has anything to do with her mobility and independence, I guess it's just what I call "Mediterraneanitis" (地中海区炎症/综合症)

俺不气愤你去欧洲大耍。。。俺义愤填膺滴是。。。
你居然可以有3个月滴时间，一次性滴集中滴大耍。。。羡慕嫉妒恨ing。。。

我百度了一下,只看到地中海贫血综合症.大概不是一回事.

It was something made up by that nurse based on the patient's behaviour, she happens to come from the mediterranean area, Michelle!

Also, the people from this area are typically famous for enjoying their first class feeling among the rest of the world!

I once mentioned that Zoe had been through a strictly disciplined childhood both internally (家庭内) and externally (学校里). Even though she constantly complains about the strict regulations on her up-bringing, we, as parents, appreciate what those disciplines turn her into.

She hasn't let anybody down and got herself into medicine, but what makes us more proud of her is that she has been moonlighting (业余时间打工) in retails ever since she got here in Australia, to make her own pocket-money covering her expenses in clothes, parties, gifts and inter-state traveling and stuff.

Today, she told me: Mom, I become so professionally excellent in selling stuff (At this stage, she is a saleswoman in a jewelry store) now, that I don't worry that much about whether I can get myself through medicine or not, because I can totally make a decent living out of sale.

I asked her how excellent a saleswoman she can be now, she replied: I can even sell the ice to Eskimos (爱斯基摩人) 比喻她巧舌如簧， 什么不好卖的东东她都能卖得出去
