I am well aware that every story has to come to an end, no matter how beautiful the journey is or how much you enjoy telling it!

The comforting fact is that our Tasmania adventure ended in a spectacular sunset!!!

Thank you all for keeping me company along this expedition, actually, your presence is my main inspiration to hang in there and make it to the finish line!

15/11/2014--In Devenport, awaiting boarding Spirit of Tasmania!

It took us about two and half hours being reduced almost motionless in a huge bikie parade to finally check in into our cabin! Being fascinated by the seemingly endless bikie crowd, I couldn't help but wonder if, somewhere in a company or factory, the working force was experiencing a dramatic staff shortage!

It gave me an impression that this city, second to Hobart in Tasmania, must be full of history. But, it was a shame I was running out of time to learn it when I was there!

The pruning's well done.
The soil looks dry and sandy; the row spacing is very much generous.

Plus lots of sunlight and cool climate, everything is just right for lavender.
Fabulous shots, yping. I could see clearly every detail of it. I always think of having a close look at the lavender farm (my friend's been there, too). It's now right in front of my eyes. I assume I don't have to make a trek over there. Ah, haaha

By no means would we knock Bridestowe Lavender Farm visit off my travel itinerary even though we were told the lavender is not in blossom yet!

Rumor has it that the CEO of the lavender estate has dropped his original plan of not exporting the lavender bears to China. He has decided that this estate will be doing much better in China's huge market after president Xi JinPing's Tasmania trip!

But, there has been some concerns about what damage this might do to this estate's tourist industry! Well, there will always be two sides to every coin, won't it?

We accidentally wandered into a hidden bay beyond St Helens' point that far, far less frequented by tourists, and we ended up being lost in the bush for about 40 minutes before we found our way back! But, we found somewhere spectacular--The photos will speak for themselves!

Bay Of Fires---As been seen, the weather were playing naughty for us when these photos were taken. But, you could imagine what dramatic a fire front it could be when the whole bay turns to bright red in the broad sunlight!

To be honest, I should be a bit mindful here to post these photos, because Wing Glass Bay is the iconic scenery of Freycinet National Park, and maybe this bay is the most filmed and talked about icon in FreeOz! But it's extremely hard for me to hold back posting them, by taking on this challenge, I won't mind your judging me for not doing it perfectly as you expected!

You are exactly right about the open discussions on Australia's painful past! I guess that should be the whole idea of "Freedom of speech/press" is all about--The truth, no matter how ugly it could be, can never be twisted and tainted!

Similarily, you mention the convicted minors, which reminds me of a documentary that I saw on TV about British child migrants secretly transported from Britain to other countries, another shameful policy to the government back then.
I take comfort in seeing the flip side of it, that is - everyone today can talk about it and make it into movies (as lots of directors have done) free of any charges.

What I understood personally was that neither the then British government nor Australia government would be happy to face that convict past. For one thing that British government used the convicts as the labourers to conquer and colonise this huge island. For another that the earlier settlers exploited the convicts and lived on their strenuous work in the name of rehabilitating the criminals, even on the youngest minors of only 9 years old. I did ask the tour guide whether these minors were accompanied by their guardians, the answer was NO, because they had nobody at all around back in their homeland.
