Fares not enforced on Monday as CityRail ticket offices unstaffed
Posted: Friday 6 August 2010
The unions have notified RailCorp there will be a 24 hour ban on ticket selling, fare collection and fare enforcement across the CityRail network on Monday 9 August.
As a result, customers are being advised that using a valid ticket will not be enforced on CityRail services on Monday, however bus and ferry services still require a ticket.
CityRail staff will keep the barrier gates open at all stations during the day except at busy stations where they may be used to regulate crowd flow onto platforms in the afternoon peak.
Ticket vending machines will still be operational and that MyMulti tickets can be purchased from these machines and at ticket resellers.
CityRail services will operate to the usual weekday timetable on Monday and we don't anticipate any impact on passengers.
CountryLink passengers will need to purchase a ticket for travel on Monday and they can do this from Travel Centres, online at www.countrylink.info or by phone 13 22 32.
Customers are encouraged to visit the service interruptions section or call 131 500 for up-to-the-minute information on CityRail services.
