This year, for the first time ever, Fair Day is the official Launchevent for Mardi Gras. At 12 noon follow the bright colours from allcorners of the park to the main stage to join gay diva Shauna Jensen,broadcaster Julie McCroisson, Neighbour Day founder Andrew Heslop andthe Lord Mayor of the City of Sydney, Clover Moore to pop the champagnecork and launch SS Mardi Gras 2009.

Fair Day has heaps of entertainment to choose from including the verytalented Bob Downe, bands including Chasing Bailey and She Said Yes andDJs including Kitty Glitter. See Australia’s Next Top Model judgeCharlotte Dawson critique the contestants of Mr and Mrs Fair Day and,while you’re there, why not pass a cursory glance over the contestantsin the final of AXN magazine’s search for Australia's Next Gay CoverModel?
Don’tforget the smooth grooves and live sounds at the Lounge Space presentedby Bitch and, of course, the pooch parade at Doggywood presented byAdvance Pet Food.

Mardi Gras Parade Members Viewing Area Thehottest tickets in town, the exclusive Mardi Gras Parade MembersViewing Area, go on sale this Friday 13 February at 9am (Sydney time).Set in the heart of Taylor Square, the area is fenced from the crowdsand comes complete with its own bar and DJ's including thefabulous Baby Bear, Doug James, Kitty Glitter, Kate Munroe and asurprise DJ yet to be announced.
Ticketsare strictly limited and are only available to current New MardiGras members on a first come first served basis with a limit of 2tickets per member.
Ticketscost $70 each (plus booking fee) and can be purchased by showing yourmembership card at your local Ticketek agency, by phoning 132 849 oronline at www.ticketek.com.au

Workshop volunteers TheMardi Gras Workshop is in need of volunteers to paint, glitter, glueand add some sparkle to the Parade and Party. All skill levels cateredfor, there’s lots of work to go around. Workshop hours are from 10am to5pm, come for an hour or stay the whole day. Our Party workshop isbased in Petersham and the Parade workshop is in Rosebery.
