Visa-free travel
According to a study done by Henley & Partners, Australia has a Henley Visa Restrictions Index of 151, which means that Australian citizens enjoy visa-free access to 151 countries and territories for short-term tourism visits. Australia is ranked 7th in the study in terms of international travel freedom.

It is estimated that 188 countries and territories granted visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to ordinary Australian passport holders. 144 (visa on arrival for free counted) countries and territories are visa-free accessible. Visa prior to arrival or pre-arrangement required for countries or territories not mentioned below.[1]

Where visa-free access is permitted, such access is not necessarily a right, and admission may technically be at the discretion of border enforcement officers. Visitors engaging in activities other than tourism, including unpaid work, may require a visa or work permit.

美国全新E-3签证,专属澳洲公民!!!!


2005年5月10日, 美国国会投票通过了911以来极为罕见的开放美国移民政策的HR1268提案, HR1268创造了一个新的E-3Visa, 布什总统已经在2005年5月11日签字,HR1268已经正式成为法律,正式实行估计还要等几个月. E-3签证是专门发放给澳洲公民的工作非移民签证, 每年名额10500个. 由于细则还在制定中, 所以下面列出的可能跟实际条款稍有出入, 但这个法律的实施肯定是板上钉钉了.
E-3签证申请条件:
1, 澳洲公民, 注意, 不是澳大利亚绿卡哦
2, 本科学历(tertiary qualifications/ Bachelor Degree)及以上或认可的专业领域经
验.
3, 有Job Offer以及雇主的SPONSORSHIP(和H1B一模一样), 并且职业是"Specialty Occupation" The definition of the specialty occupation is same as H-1B visa.

E-3签证的条款
1, 两年有效, 可续, 爱续多久续多久, 只要是有工作,那就是说你可以在美国呆几十年强
过H1B的6年,简直成了不是绿卡但是和绿卡差不多了!
2, E3签证的配偶可以工作,有工作许可EAD(比H1B强多了), 以及未成年子女又可以打工又
可以读书.又是和绿卡差不多了,现在只有J2签证和它类似,但是J2还要办豁免以及五年的
时间限制.
3, Procedure: The procedure is identical to Singapore & Chile National H-1B1 visas: DOL attestations and E-3 petition filing.
4, 每年10500名额, 指主申请人的名额, 配偶和小孩不占名额
5, 与H1B无关, E3申请者仍然可以申请H1B
6, 申请费US$205. Filing fees: The benefits of this special visa for the Australian nationals are twofolds: (1) Not subject to the H-1B cap which is currently unavailable to other aliens until October 1, 2005. (2) Only $185 filing fee for the petition. They are not required to pay $1,500 or $750 American Worker Training charges or $500 Fraud Prevention and Detection fees.

从此, 澳洲同志们就不必每年与全世界剩下的60亿人们争夺每年的65000个H1B名额啦. 移民律师说: 目前对其它国家开放类似签证的可能性基本不存在, 呵呵. E-3签证法案通过的原因是由美澳自由贸易协定, 澳洲亦步亦趋的伊拉克政策, 以及澳大利亚美国以往一贯的良好关系决定的.

H1B和E3都是工作签证，属于“允许有移民倾向的”签证类别，就是说，你去美国大使馆申请这一类签证的时候不能够因为你有移民倾向而拒绝你,这同留学签证(F1)是完全不同的，后者根本不允许你有移民倾向。其实这个时候对E-3签证持有人来说，绿卡也已经是可有可无的事情了。因为你在美国挣钱，交美国的税，持澳洲护照，到世界上绝大多数国家旅游免签证。这样一来澳大利亚的高福利和美国的高工资两边的好处都占了,而美国对绿卡持有者没有什么公共福利,所以申请不申请美国绿卡都可以。
