English Language Requirements
Applicants for a Skilled Migration visa who are:
a) not native English speakers; and
b) need to demonstrate vocational or competent English language ability; and
c) do not need to take and pass an Occupational English Test as part of their skills assessment process.
will need to submit results from an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test undertaken not more than 12 months prior to the date of lodging this visa application to evidence their English language ability. A certified copy of the result is acceptable.
Other applicants may be requested to provide an IELTS test result during the processing of their application.
A native English language speaker is a person whose first spoken language is English and who is the holder of a passport of the United Kingdom (UK), Canada, New Zealand, United States of America (USA) or the Republic of Ireland.

Applicants who need to provide an IELTS test result should arrange to take the next available IELTS test. General Training tests are in strong demand in Australia and are booked well in advance at most centres. Please contact a centre for the next available test date.
