父母的pr签证是否就可以无限期延长

关于BB在澳洲出生，因为我老婆是PR，我是TR，那么父母的pr签证是否就可以无限期延长？是否还要坐完移民监才可以转为cityzen呢？如果PR签证到期要续PR签证，有具体什么要求吗？（例如是否也要求在澳时间必须累计够2年）还有老婆（holding PR）生完孩子，309签证是否就可以马上转成pr了？

you will still be required to meet all the requirements to be a PR I think, no matter you've got a baby or not. But of course, when your baby is an Australian citizen, there must be parents to look after the baby, so normally the immigration would not reject to give you PR. And after the first 5 years of PR visa, what you will get is not to extend the PR visa, but to get a resident return visa, I think. To qualify to get the resident return visa, you will need to meet the requirement of living here for at least 2 years in the last 5 years. Otherwise, they will still ask the question why you need to be PR when you don't actually live here as PR.

Thanks for the quick reply! Would you mind telling me more about what the deffer is between PR and Resident Return visa? If we hold the Resident Return visa, can we apply the citizenship after 2 yrs staying Sydney in this 5 yrs? What is the basic requirments for the changing from Resident return visa to Citizenship?

Also,if we had not stayed in Sdyney total 2 yrs in 5 yrs PR, shall we have a chance to extend our PR after that 5 yrs?

Sorry for the late reply! I was at work the other day when I saw your question and haven't checked here for long...

Anyway, resident return visa is for PRs whoes visa first PR visa has expired and still wants to stay as PR in Australia, I think. You can still become a citizen when you meet all the requirements when holding resident return visa. The requirements are the same for all visa types as long as you are on a PR visa. You will need to continue to live 2 of the 5 years of the resident return visa, to get another resident return visa when the prior one is expiring.
