About Us:
Nyoibo Studio is a translation service provider for Qidian - the biggest online novel publisher in China. At Nyoibo, we aim to bring the magic of Chinese novels to the world. Currently, we are looking for competent Chinese to English Translator on part-time basis.

Job Description  
The translators need to:
        read through the original Chinese material and rewriting it in English, ensuring that the meaning of the source is retained;

        use appropriate dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalent terminology and words for translation;

        provide clients with a grammatically correct, well-expressed final version of the translated text, usually in a word processing document;

        work closely with the editors and team members and meet deadlines;

        follow various translation-quality standards to ensure legal and ethical obligations to the customer;

        prior experience with translation is not compulsory but an advantage for sure!


Qualifications
        Fluency in both Chinese and English language;

        Excellent writing skills and command on grammar;

        Interested in Modern, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Wuxia like novels;

        Attention to detail combined with the ability to work quickly to meet deadlines;

        Eagerness to acquire new knowledge and be self-motivated

Location:   Home-based
Salary: The translators would be paid on monthly basis for total number of chapters translated.  The average rate is ~USD 24/ chapter.
Hours:  The translators are usually expected to translate 30 chapters of a Chinese novel (~3000 characters per chapter)  per month in a time suitable to them.

How to apply
All the applicants are required to sit a translation test, where the applicants would be asked to translate a selected part of a Chinese novel (usually ~ 1200 characters in length) to verify their translation skills. To apply, please contact Mengqi at Mengqi.chen85@gmail.com.
