I read this article and it talked about paying lots of tax by purchasing goods in china.

I am thinking that I live in nz and I really don't need to pay so much chinese tax by purchasing goods in china. Is that right? I am confused now.

I have the same feeling.

Here is the data

1 some part of salary pays 33% income tax
2 I need to pay 15% gst for all new goods i.e. the food in supermarket

That is 33%+15%=48%
