We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Never underestimate puppy love.
It turned out to be life-changing for one blind couple from Stoke-On-Trent in England, who reportedly came together after the pair's guide dogs fell in love.
Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffey first met last March during a two-week guide dog training course where their Labradors, Venice and Rodd, seemed to be drawn to each other.
"They were always playing together and nuzzling up together," Gaffey, 52, told the Telegraph. "The trainers said that they were the love and romance of the course, and they brought us together."
The dogs' friendship prompted Johnson and Gaffey, who live just a mile and a half apart, to meet up after the sessions concluded. What began as coffee and play dates for their dogs soon turned into something more.
"Each time we met the lunches were getting longer and the waitresses were tapping their fingers waiting for us to leave," Gaffey told the Sentinel.
By Valentine's Day, the couple was engaged, and they plan to wed next March--with their dogs at their sides.
"Rodd and Venice...are as much a couple as me and Mark," Claire told the Telegraph. "They will be walking us down the aisle and be ring bearers. This wedding is down to them."
