塔斯马尼亚下议院正在针对同性婚姻州立法进行激烈的辩论，今晚即将见分晓，提案受到了空前的欢迎，因此通过的可能性极大。

但是通过下议院以后，还要面临上议院的表决，尤其是上议院有一些MP对同性婚姻持反对立场。不过通过上议院的可能性还是很大的。

当然，塔省通过及后，同性婚姻立法还要面临联邦最高法院的挑战。真是好事多磨啊。

Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings has opened debate on same sex marriage, detailing letters from supporters.

Gay and lesbian couples have gathered in the public gallery of the House of Assembly to hear the bill debated.

It is expected to pass through the Lower House tonight, with the support of Labor and the Greens.

Ms Giddings says she has been flooded with letters of support from all over the world.

"Daughters wrote to me in support of their lesbian mothers, mothers and fathers wrote to me in support of their children in same-sex relationships, men and women in long-term committed relationships wrote to me with the hope that soon their relationship will receive the recognition they've longed for for decades," she said.

The bill will have a harder path through the Upper House, where some MPs are yet to declare their support.
