Camping beside Coxs River and walking on Botwells Swing Bridge along “Six-Foot-Track” is another experience in addition to regular bushwalking/hiking at Blue Mountains National Park.
We are going to walk “Six-Foot-Track” for this weekend March 5 (Saturday) and Sunday (March 6) before heading to Wilsons Prom of Victoria next weekend.
At the same starting point, the Explore Tree of Katoomba, a few of us will carry camping gears and walk to Swing Bridge on Saturday and stay at Cox River campsite on Saturday night, while most of us will only walk on Sunday, and meet the Saturday’s walkers at Swing Bridge for lunch. All of us will walk back Katoomba together on Sunday afternoon.
For 2 days walks and over night camping at Coxs River, please see

There are three options for walking part of six-foot-track and both Explorer Tree of Katoomba and Megalong Valley Road, Megalong are car access.
1) Starting at Explorer Tree of Katoomba, to Botwells Swing Bridge over Coxs River by crossing Old Ford Reserve and walking back Katoomba. This is about 30 KM with near 1500 M ascent and 1550 M descent, for 8-9 hours;
2) Starting at Old Ford Reserve, to Botwells Swing Bridge over Coxs River and back Old Ford Reserve. This is about 12 KM with medium grade for 4-5 hours;
3) Starting at Explorer Tree of Katoomba, to Botwells Swing Bridge over Coxs River crossing Old Ford Reserve and back Old Ford Reserve only. This is about 23 KM with 1000 meters ascent and 1100 meters descent; for 6-7 hours.
Do not forget to buy the best beef at Megalong Valley along the six-foot-track.
