It is time to resume our bushwalking in Sydney region after two weeks.
We are going to Wollemi National Park for this Sunday Oct 10, 2010.
Two options of tracks could be chosen:
10 KM of Mountain Lagoon – Colo River Gorge View or
20 KM of Mountain Lagoon – Mailes Ridge – Colo River
Mountain Lagoon – Colo River Gorge View: From a bluff above the Colo River, north of Mountain Lagoon, there are panoramic views of gthe Colo wilderness in Wollemi National Park. This bluff can be reached easily by walking along fairly level fire trails from Mountain Lagooon village which has an elevation of 560 meters.
Mountain Lagoon – Mailes Ridge – Colo River: This walk would provide a good instruction to overnight bushwalking (but easily done within 6 hours). The Colo-Meroo camping area on the banks of the Colo, has a white sandy beach, and good swimming areas. The walking route is along a relative new track, which has been marked by the NPWS. There are fine views over the Colo River along the way.
The meeting time and place
10:00 AM .......
