Location: Epping - Melbourne I had the same problem with my house two days ago. It's potentially dangerous but I was able to fix it.
I turned off the main switch (MAIN SWITCH at the power panel outside the house), unplugged the light switch, re-seated the wires properly then put them back again. It's working fine now.
Legally, you need to use Electrician to do that for you

Yes you do, because should you have troubles later with an electrical fault or fire anywhere in the house be prepared for the insurance company to scrub you IF they find out you have been monkeying with the wiring or switches.
