James Dagwell is a British journalist working for BBC News. He was born in 1974 and brought up in Crowborough, East Sussex, and is a graduate of the University of London (Royal Holloway College) [1] having completed a degree in English and Drama.

James appears on the 24 hour news channel BBC News and can be seen anchoring the news, mainly overnight on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News simulcast, alongside presenting some of their programmes. He often presents BBCi's news headlines loop.

Dagwell has a new show entitled E24 on BBC News with Gethin Jones at 10.45am, commencing on Saturday 16 February 2008, consisting of entertainment news and interviews and will be repeated at 5.45 on the same day and at 5.35 and 9.45pm the following day.

He was the presenter of 60 Seconds on BBC Three for 2 years previously and a reporter for The 7 O'Clock News prior to that. James has also been a presenter and reporter for ITV1 Westcountry News and Channel One News, and a producer for Newsround, the BBCs children's news round-up. [1]

James Dagwell is a presenter/reporter for the BBC News Channel and BBC World News. He fronts the news summaries for BBC News Interactive and co-presents other programmes on the BBC News Channel such as Your News and Entertainment 24.

James studied English and Drama at the University of London.

He got his first break into television by making cups of tea for celebrities appearing on GMTV, and went on to become a researcher. In 1997, James moved to Channel One News – a London cable news station – as a video journalist.

James then did a stint at ITV1 Westcountry News in South West England as presenter and reporter before returning to London in 2000 and to the BBC as a producer on its award-winning news programme for children, Newsround.

He travelled widely filming special reports for the documentary strand Newsround Extra – covering subjects as diverse as asylum seekers, an Indian religious festival and fanatical pop fans.

In 2003, he moved to BBC Three News at its launch to work on its half-hour news programme at 7.00pm. He was a reporter for three years before becoming the main presenter of 60 Seconds – BBC Three's hourly news updates in 2006. He stayed with the channel until 2008.

James was born in 1974 and brought up in Crowborough, East Sussex. He now lives in London.
