In Taiwan, severe cases of people infected with enterovirus are increasing. The outbreak of this intestinal virus comes abruptly and spreads fast.

According to the Taiwan Infectious Disease Control Department, in just last week there were 27 new cases. Most are children younger than 6 years of age.
据台湾感染性疾病管制局说，单单在上周就有27个病例。大部份是六岁以下的儿童。

STORY:
To date, a total of 203 people in Taiwan are infected with the intestinal virus, seven have died already. The epidemic tends to spread from the south to the north.
新闻内容：到目前为止，台湾总共有203人感染肠病毒，有7个人已经死了。这项流行性疾病的趋势是从南向北扩散。

Deputy Director of Taiwan's Disease Control Department, Zhihao Zhou, gives this analysis of the epidemic.

[Zhihao Zhou, Deputy Director, Infectious Disease Control]:
"Until this morning, we confirmed 203 severe cases of the enterovirus infection, most are children younger than 5 years of age. Most cases are in Kaohsiung County, and then in southern Tainan County, and then in the central Changhua County. There are more cases in the northern counties than in other areas."
“直到今天早上，我们确认了203起严重的肠病毒感染病例，大部份是五岁以下的孩童。大部份的病例在高雄县，然后是南部的台南县，南后是中部的彰化县。北部县市有比其他地区更多的病例。

The deputy director says that among the 27 newly infected children, there are ten who are still in the intensive care unit. One child was transferred to a general ward, and 15 were discharged from the hospital.
副局长说，在27位新近感染的儿童中，有十位仍然在加护病房，有一位孩童转送至普通病房，有15位已经出院。
