据2009年2月14日澳洲新闻联社报道，联邦政府财长斯旺（Wayne Swan）表示，联邦政府$420亿新刺激经济方案中的一次性现金补助将在两个月内发放。其中：
　　
　　1）单薪收入家庭 $900元补助将从3月11日起由Centrelink直接发放。
　　
　　2）学龄儿童返校补贴$950元也将从3月11日开始正式发放。
　　
　　3）符合条件的上班族可获得最高$900元的税收补助，将从4月6日起开始发放，但前提是必须提供2007-08年纳税申报单。如果目前还未提交纳税申报单，在6月30之前提交仍可获得这笔现金补贴。
　　
　　上班族：[请注意，在这里上班，正常报税的国际学生也可以申请补贴]
　　
　　如果年收入低于等于10万元，将获发放最高900元的现金补贴，其中：
　　
　　如果年收入低于或等于8万者都可以获得900元的现金补贴，收入在8万至9万者，现金补贴为600元，而收入9万至10万者，现金补贴为250元。

②如果您2008年报税是交给会计处理的，您可以联系你的会计把这900元申请回来。

Westpac的这个规定刚刚取消啦！星期四还在说没这笔存款很难办，星期五下午接到电话说规矩改了半小时就把贷款批了。

上学的话5％是不太可能的了。。。一般20％首期。。。

Six rate rises expected, starting early 2010

Financial markets are expecting that the Reserve Bank may raise rates more than six times, starting early next year. In the August board minutes published yesterday, the RBA said it was unlikely there would be further cuts to interest rates as the outlook for the economy had started to brighten.

The RBA minutes stated that “the bank would in due course need to adopt a less expansionary policy stance." Markets predict that there is a six per cent chance of a rate rise in September. The expectations of a rate rise by the end of the year are firming.

JPMorgan chief economist Stephen Walters said the RBA board would wait until early next year to raise rates. "Only if the domestic data fails to soften, or the global uncertainties are resolved unequivocally some time soon, will the RBA deliver a rate hike before the end of 2009," Mr Walters said. "Once the hikes begin, though, we expect a steady drumbeat of 25 basis point hikes as the bank removes the generous policy accommodation in an orderly and resolute fashion."

Bankwest launches Capped Rate Home Loan

Bankwest has launched its new Capped Rate Home Loan - the only one of its kind in the Australian mortgage market. The innovative home loan offers customers the benefits of a variable rate that is comparable to the current market average with the added security of a cap until 10 November 2012.

When rates go down, so does the customer's rate, because its variable, if they go up, the rate is capped at 7.50% during the capped period. The Capped Rate Home Loan has a 5.40 per cent p.a. variable rate (comparison rate of 5.56% p.a.), and a capped rate of 7.50% p.a. (comparison rate of 7.65% p.a.) until 10 November 2012.

Bankwest's Head of Mortgages Dean Gillespie said the new offering underlined Bankwest's ongoing commitment and determination to provide Australians with more choice by increasing competition in the mortgage market.

"This unique and innovative product is further proof that Bankwest is paying attention to what Australians want from a home loan product and delivering," Mr Gillespie said.

Recent Bankwest / Mortgage and Finance Association Research found that 75 per cent of people think that interest rates have hit a low point. "This product has been specifically designed to offer customers the opportunity to make the most of the current low interest rates, whilst the cap will provide peace of mind for when the rates inevitably start to rise."
