Technical Difficulties in New Delhi

DIAC's New Delhi Office is experiencing technical difficulties which are causing delays in processing applications and issuing visas. It is expected the difficulties will not be rectified before Friday 7 September 2007.

Special processing arrangements have been put in place for particularly urgent cases.

Further advice will be posted as it becomes available. Your patience at this time is appreciated.

If you lodged an application on or before 31 August 2007, your application will be assessed against the requirements in place at that time.

Due to a large increase in visa applications received during August 2007, the department is experiencing delays in its application registration process. Every effort is being made to register applications as quickly as possible but there are currently delays of around 4 weeks for onshore applications and 12 weeks for offshore applications.

DIAC Compliance areas have been informed of these delays.

If you have authorised a credit card payment for your application, please ensure that you maintain sufficient funds in your account to cover your application fee. When your payment is receipted you will be advised immediately by email.

To check how your application is progressing in the queue for receipting, acknowledgment or allocation to a case officer, please send an email to the processing centre.

Note: This information is updated on a weekly basis each Tuesday.
