1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar ( found in baking section of supermarket )
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup water
few drops food colouring ( found in baking section of supermarket )
1. Mix flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil in saucepan.
2. Mix food colouring into water and add to saucepan.
3. Cook over low heat and stir with wooden spoon until mixture is thick. ( Pinch dough with fingers, if not sticky it is cooked )
4. Turn out mixture onto clean surface and kneed together few times until firm and soft.
5. Store in plastic bag or ice cream container. ( doesn't have to be in fridge )
6. Will keep for several months if not left out in air for long periods.
