One of good things I love about Australia is everybody has his own right to choose the lifestyle that suits him(Antisocial behaviour is excluded). So, be a gay if you are meant to be. But there is no point getting the public recognition for who you are, as long as your sexuality is not judged to a point where you can't live your own life any more. As a gay, you are granted your own freedom as a human being. But if somebody else holds different view on this, he is granted the human right to speak up his mind as well. I just can't see any reason why gays can't live their own life without being judged, but I can't see why the public can't express their concerns either. No matter who you are, we have to share this wonderful planet without attacking one another based on their sexuality, or on what their views are on gays. So, please put an end to this endless, awful attack! Life is too precious to be wasted on this abuse.

WTF? The homophobes are not only 'holding their view' they are actively seeking to reduce our civil rights. What if the OZ government rules that Chinese immigrants can't get married?

BTW, nobody is stopping them from expressing their bigoted opinions. Indeed they were the ones that had been actively speaking out against us. So now we talked back at them they can't handled the heat?

Ok, K & X. I believe that you both know Ellen Degeneres & Penny Wong very well, have you ever seen them go around defending themselves about who they are? They have just achieved so much in the society, they have been fighting so hard to achieve their own meaningful goals, which are far more important than getting recognized for sexuality. I don't think the society respect them less than any other public figures. Remember what Penny Wong said in media when asked about her own view on gay marriage: "I know what my family is worth". That message is so strong that nobody can afford judging her in any way.

Ellen is one of the most outspoken against homophobic.
As for Penny's speech, do you even know the context it was spoken? She is also a politician so she followed her party line on this issue, even then recently she has become very pro-active in condemning the haters.

To be honest, getting accepted in sexuality is not the only reason you are here in this wonderful world, isn't it? I wonder, if you have parents that need your support? If you have any friends in need that need your presence?
