Day 2
雪停了,地铁还是很多人。八通线倒车的时候,我平均要等3个车次,才能挤上去。
Guess I could try doing this in English from now on....
It's really been a long day. I've watched three native speakers doing the Teaching Practice today with a group of elementary-level students invited. They've on average done a great job. The first TP trainee was a university English teacher in China. He definitely has better control over the content flow, class management and practice drill activities. The second one was a pretty woman from UK who seems to have a serious job in BJ and has just recently bought a flat here. She was also quite good, except that at one time she's using too many materials on the whiteboard that both she and the students were a little confused. But she has come over it and got some positive feedbacks. The third one was a rounded built guy from the states who also teaches at some university. He also involved quite a few acitivities in the new vocab teaching and learning part.
I will be the next three TP trainee to have their lesson assessed tomorrow afternoon. As we all need to stick strictly to some rules of introducing the contents and are supposed to use certain techniques to motivate students, there's really not so much room for freestyling. And I also got advice from some friend's friends that I need to follow the rules to get the certificate. (Contents are given by our intructure, too.)
Therefore I guess it won't be too big a prob for me. The only thing to pay attention is to keep my instructions and expressions concise and simple to fit into the needs of elementary learners. I guess this is a little hard, as I've trained myself in the oppositie way for quite some time since taking the IELTS.
God knows. Good thing is that failer of one lesson doesn't necessarily mean failure of the whole course. It won't be the end of the world. But I guess that entails the need to persuade the assessors that as time goes by, you are making progress by leaps and bounds.
Meanwhile, I'm hoping to get the PR jpb I interviewed for at the end of 2009. Therefore, wish me good luck! |
