我打算下个月入籍.小孩现在1岁,在国内.请问我入籍后,孩子可以申请澳洲公民吗?

我在网上查了,好像要孩子出生的时候父母一方已经是公民,那么小孩才可以自动成为公民.大家帮忙看看吧.
