I bought an electricity heater in May and expected to know how much it would cost when receiving a bill in June. The bill expected to come in June did not come, not in July, but today as a surprising quarterly bill with due amount around $1000.
After calling AGL this morning I got to know that AGL had changed billing cycle from monthly to quarterly without my consent and any notifications -- phone call, email or letter.
If I had received a monthly bill in June or July, I should have avoided using the electricity heater that much but using a gas heater which is just a little bit noisy at night. Therefore it's the AGL's miss-communication that caused me to receive this huge bill.
In fact it's not the first time that AGL changed my billing cycle, they have being swinging between monthly and quarterly few times during the last year, never with my consent, nor sent out notification or explanation.
AGL is responsible for the extra electricity consumption caused by their change of my billing cycle without my consent or notification.
It's only reasonable for me to pay the 1/3 the bill + two typical amount of my past monthly bills, that's around $450 and I would like to pay $450 to settle this issue. |
