136班长，租房车中国驾照要公证吗？

您当年租的时候没有澳本地驾照租房车的时候，驾照公证了吗？
有人说要公证，有人说翻译件就成。我晕了。

我决定挺而走险，不公证了。主要因为我来不及了，10号就走，8号公证处才上班。
如果租车的地方真的跟我要，我就马上打车去中国城翻译处现翻一个去。
136姐姐，你的公证后来派上用场了没？租车时人家要求出示了吗？

不过你要是实在来不及了也没办法了，你们现在新版的驾照上应该有英文吧，可能就是姓名还是中文的，你拿着护照对照给他们看看试试

入境三个月内，你是可以用你的中国驾照在澳洲开车的。
我租车时就直接给对方我的中国驾照，就租给我了。
不过在澳洲开车要小心，右舵的车习惯不一样，另外就是小心动物，买好保险。

翻出了我上半年问这个事情时，RTA给我的回信，我问的是pr和在NSW开车的情况，不过我在SA也租车开了，估计是一样的吧，如果不放心，也可以自己发信问问

Licence holders from another country (other than New Zealand) who come into NSW and hold a permanent visa under the Commonwealth Migration Act 1958 are allowed to drive or ride in NSW on their current overseas licences for a maximum of three months from the date the permanent visa is issued.

If you are a licence holder from New Zealand (regardless if you are a permanent or temporary resident), you must obtain a NSW driver licence within three months of residing in NSW or you must stop driving.

不用公证, 自己翻译就可以了.
我今年2月在MELBOURNE租BRITZ房车就这样, 今年8月份在SYDNEY, GOLDCOAST, AIRLIE BEACH, CAIRNS租了四次车也都是用自己的翻译件, 分别是HERTZ, ALPHA, EUROPECAR这几个公司的SEDAN和SUV, 都不用.

Fleischmann 说的没错，如果持PR签证，海外驾照可以用3个月，其他visiting签证类别可以无限期使用海外驾照。但是据我了解，在NSW 海外驾照如果没有英文，则只能去指定的机构 Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW 去翻译（http://www.crc.nsw.gov.au/services/language_services  ）。
理论上说，开车时需携带驾照原件和翻译件。但是一个朋友没来得及翻译驾照时开车被警察查酒精，看了驾照没翻译也只是警告他并没开罚单
