If English is your second language, you will need to provide evidence to the Nurses Board confirming your English competence. This evidence can be the provision of an approved English test. The approved tests are:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Academic Test
A score of at least 6.5 in Reading and Listening and a score of at least 7 in Writing and Speaking with an overall band score of 7 or greater. For further information, please visit the IELTS Australia website.
Occupational English Test (OET) for Nurses and Midwives
Nurses and midwives must achieve a B pass or higher in all four sections of the OET test. For further information, please visit the OET website.
Results must be sent from the test centre direct to the Nurses Board of South Australia (nbsa).
