从刚开始的叙述来看,她很爱A, 并且has an affair with this married A. 她很爱他,告诉他关于自己的一切。而B是她开车时,拦下他一名交警。
==================预警,以下严重剧透
情节转折点,
‘I didn’t know you’d lost your mum, how terrible. How old were you?’
I pull back, shocked.
‘I told you, the night we first slept together. I told you then. When you told me all about Bea and how Max struggles so much.’ I literally remember every scrap he confided, everything. How could he forget?
结尾================
Two glasses of wine in, Ali insists we have to return to the job in hand, so I take his and follow him out. As we’re walking back down Regent’s Park Road – possibly my favourite street in London – my phone beeps. It’s sure to be Alice, desperate for an update. I discreetly slip it out of my pocket, not wanting to break the moment. It’s not Alice, it’s Charles.
I love you. And I’m sorry
is all it says. I stare at it a second too long, wondering if I should reply and what that reply should say. Then I push the phone deep into the recesses of my bag, slip my arms around Ali and kiss him like my life depends on it.

这是我读的第一本ELEANOR MORAN的书。英国作家,她住在伦敦北部,读完这本书,突然觉得,如果有一天,我要去伦敦,包里一定装着她的书。
去uk的amazon里找书评,以下两条非常有意思:

funny, clever, characters who you actually start to care about however much you think you should take a moral stance against someone having an affair with a married man. Should be compulsory reading for all those women who think "he'll leave his wife some day"! Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Eleanor Moran is an engaging writer who made me laugh out loud and cry more than once. Very much looking forward to her next book. The low reviews are un-just and Ms Moran should be credited for writing a book that goes beyond the usual chick-lit and actually makes the reader think about love in all it's different forms and not just the usual boy meets girl formula.

We've all heard about the choices of the 30-something - the divorced or dodgy catches that constitute the 'plenty more fish in the sea'. So most women who haven't encountered monsieur right at this age are going to be confronted at some point with the "He's PERFECT!/ He's married..." moment. The author really brings this situation to life - the agonies of finding a soulmate, only to realise someone else has got there before you. Because this is not the usual frothy situation of a chick-lit novel, this isn't necessarily going to be a happily ever after sort of a story...
The book reminded me a bit of Marian Keyes (whose pink-covers enclose plots that dwell on alcoholism, betrayal and even domestic violence) in that Eleanor Moran has taken a dark set-up but with her effervescent style has made it a thoroughly enjoyable read.
如果不是时间太少,好书太多,我一定会重读一遍这本书的。 |
