One thing you got to know about this is: in most cases, when talking about salary or package, they are all taxable. That means, the money you can get each week/month is the amount of your weekly/monthly salary deducted by withhold tax.

Given an example as following:

Suppose the salary the employer agree to pay is 52000/year. that's 1000/week, but after tax withholding, you can expect to get something around $750 per week. The withhold tax is an approximate number which could be adjusted by the end of financial year with Tax Return.

The other small hint is, when talking about income with employer, do make sure it's salary or package. the difference between those two is that the package include 9% superannuation.
