• Provide server based support for applications running on Microsoft products (SQL Server, Biztalk, Windows 2000/2003/2008, IIS5/6/7, Active Directory)
• Excellent IIS (6/7) and Active Directory skills from setup, tuning through to advanced troubleshooting.
• Document and review designs and implementations provided by project managers and design engineers.
• Liaise with design engineers to implement changes and fixes to the production environment.
• Take ownership of both infrastructure and application technical issues. These include CBA internally developed applications based on the Microsoft .net framework.
• Automated software installations including Windows patches and application updates by way of utilising Altiris Rapid Deployment and Windows Installer
• Able to troubleshoot network issues by applying networking skills (DNS, DHCP, FTP)
• Activity monitoring of systems and relay issues to incident and problem managers.
• Apply scripting skills to automate server activities (Batch files, VBScript, Powershell, etc).
• Create and configure monitoring alerts for new and existing systems.
• Assist team members when workload is heavy
• Document and help facilitate knowledge sharing
• Ability to work outside regular business hours when required
• Will be available to be on call on a rotational basis
• Understanding of (and adherence to) operational disciplines e.g. ITIL
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors
• A tertiary qualification is desirable
