Content:
Dear Sir/Madam
Request for information or documents
This letter refers to your application for a Skilled - (VE 175) Independent visa, which was lodged on 31/12/2008 and the department is writing to you at this time to ensure all required documentation has been provided and is current.
As you may be aware priority processing arrangements apply to all applications for General Skilled Migration (GSM) and determine the order in which the department considers applications. Priority processing arrangements are set through a direction issued by the Minister.
Under the current ministerial direction your application is in Priority Group 5 and; subject to any changes in the priority processing direction; it is anticipated that your application will be allocated to a case officer within the next twelve (12) months.
More information about the priority processing arrangements is available on the DIBP website.
See: http://www.immi.gov.au/about/cha ... arter/visas/8.0.htm
Current status of your application
Your application is not currently allocated to a case officer and the reason for this request is solely to facilitate quicker processing of your application when allocated.
Please note that any documentation you provide in response to this request will be assessed when your application is allocated to a case officer. This means that online checklists will not be updated to reflect any information you provide at this time.
Relevant information for applicants with a GSM application, including processing times, is published on the DIBP website.
See: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/g ... ged-information.htm
Requests in this correspondence refer to you and all members of your family unit listed in your application, whether or not they are migrating with you. Members of your family unit include the following persons (as applicable):
a spouse or de-facto partner,
dependent children,
children born after your application was lodged, and
a dependent parent, if that parent is single (including widowed, divorced etc.)

Supporting evidence for each visa criterion
Evidence to support the claims made in your application, including evidence of your skills assessment, English language proficiency, education qualifications and relevant employment history.

Police clearance certificates.
Police clearance certificates are required for each country that each member of the family unit has lived in for twelve (12) months or more over the last ten years since turning 16. Police clearance certificates are generally valid for twelve (12) months from the date they are completed, or issued.

If police clearance certificates have been provided within the past twelve (12) months, or you have not returned to a country for which you have previously obtained a clearance; please wait until you are contacted by a case officer before obtaining further certificates.
Health examinations
Please arrange for each member of your family unit to undertake a health examination if they have not had health examination for visa purposes in the past twelve (12) months. Health examinations are valid for up to twelve (12) months from the date they are cleared.
If health examinations have been undertaken within the past twelve months then please wait until you have been contacted by a case officer before undertaking a further health examination.

Arranging your health examinations outside Australia
Health examinations for visa applicants outside Australia are conducted by qualified doctors and radiologists nominated by this department. A list of approved immigration panel doctors is available on the DIBP website.
See: http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/panel-doctors/.
Panel doctors in your country of residence may have access to process your health examinations using a secure online system called eMedical. To find out which panel clinics offer online processing, look for the eMedical logo on the list of the approved immigration panel doctors. To make an appointment to undergo health examinations at an eMedical clinic, please provide a health identifier (HAP ID) at the time of arranging the appointment. This will facilitate faster service and ensure the case can be processed electronically if the clinic is eMedical enabled. Please find health identification numbers (HAP ID) at the end of this letter. Before visiting the panel clinic, please also make sure that the applicants complete their medical history information. The department requests that this is done online where possible to help facilitate faster service when visiting the panel clinic. Medical history information must be recorded before immigration health examinations start, as the panel doctor will take this information into account when conducting the health examination(s).This can be done via the DIBP website by entering the personal details and HAP ID for each member of your family unit listed in your visa application. You will also be asked to consent to using the eMedical system at this time. To access this service
See: https://www.eMedical.immi.gov.au/eMedUI/eMedicalClient
If completing your health examinations at a clinic which does not have eMedical available, you can download and print the required forms at:
Form 26 Medical examination for an Australian visa
Form 160 Radiological report on chest x-ray of an applicant for an Australian visa
See: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/
Arranging your health examinations in Australia
Required health examinations for visa applicants in Australia are conducted by Medibank Health Solutions (MHS); or via an Approved Medical Practitioner (AMP) in regional areas. Please make an appointment with MHS to undergo the health examinations listed above via their online booking service.
See: https://www.medibankhealth.com.au/
Before visiting MHS for your appointment, please complete your medical history online to facilitate faster service on the day of your appointment. Medical history information must be recorded before immigration health examinations start, as the panel doctor will take this information into account when conducting your health examination. You can do this via the DIBP website by entering personal details and the HAP ID listed at the end of this letter. This will need to be done for each applicant listed in your visa application. You will also be asked to consent to using the eMedical system at this time.See: https://www.eMedical.immi.gov.au/eMedUI/eMedicalClient
Note: if you do not have access to the internet you can telephone MHS on 1300 361 046 to make an appointment. At this time, MHS will discuss with you options for completing your medical history prior to your appointment and special arrangements will be made if necessary. However, please use the online channels available where possible. Please make sure that you take the following to your appointment:
an eMedical referral letter if you have followed the instructions above and completed your medical history information online or the information MHS have requested instead of this where you have not completed the online process,
a valid passport,
your prescription spectacles or contact lenses, if applicable,
existing specialist and/or other relevant medical reports for known medical conditions,
any previous chest x-rays.
Changes to your circumstances
If your circumstances have changed since you made your application, and as a result an answer to a question on your application form or the information you have given to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection about your visa application is no longer correct, you must advise us in writing as soon as possible. Please make sure that you include your name, date of birth and Application ID when you write to us.
Examples of changes in circumstances include (but are not limited to):
changes to address and/or contact details
changes to employment, (such as a new job)
obtaining a new passport
new member of the family unit
you or another member of your family unit has become pregnant
discovery that information previously provided is incorrect.
The following forms are useful for notifying the department of changes in circumstances and are available on the department's website:
Form 929 Change of address and/or passport details
Form 1022 Notification of changes in circumstances
Form 1023 Notification of incorrect answer(s)
Form 1193 Communicating by e-mail with the department.

Timeframe for response
You should provide any outstanding information required to satisfy the relevant criteria for your visa application as soon as possible as under Section 54 of the Migration Act (1958) your application may be finalised without a further request for information.
Consequently; if you are unable to provide any of the required information you should provide evidence of your efforts to comply with this request e.g. by providing application receipts for health checks; penal certificates; passports etc.
Obtaining Health and Character clearances now
Initiating health and character checking and obtaining clearances will facilitate processing of your application once it is allocated to a case officer; however; it will not fast-track the allocation process.
The department anticipates that your application will be allocated to a case officer within the next twelve (12) months. This timeframe refers only to the initial allocation of your application for assessment by a case officer. It is not an indication of the time required to complete the assessment process and finalise your application once allocated.
If you elect to proceed with health and character clearances now, you should be aware that priority processing directions are subject to change and that any such change may impact the order in which the department assesses applications. Additionally while most applications will be processed within the validity periods of clearances obtained now the processing time of an individual application may exceed this period.
Consequently, an applicant can be required to obtain further health and/or character clearances at their own cost as a result of either an extended processing timeframe or a change to the current priority processing direction.
You should also be aware that undertaking health examinations and providing police clearances does not guarantee that your application will be successful.
If you would prefer to obtain your health and character clearances after your application is allocated to a case officer there is no further action required at this time, however, we encourage you to provide all other necessary information requested in this letter to complete your application so that it may be processed as quickly as possible once allocated to a case officer for assessment.
Alternatively you can monitor when your application is likely to be allocated to a case officer and elect to undertake these processes closer to that time.
