Generally, any car length >4600mm is fairly enough to comfortably fit in 4 adults and 1 safety seat. Of course, internal layout may affect the space and comfortability.
Let's just base on lengh and ignore those luxury cars. Besides Falcon (4916mm) and Commodore (4894mm),
Large Car Sedan / Wagon:
Toyota Camry (4815mm), Toyota Arion (4825mm), Ford Fairmont (5153mm), Holden Berlinda (4894mm), Mitsubishi 380 (4837mm), Nissan Maxima (4845mm), Subaru Liberty (4720mm), Mazda 6 (4670mm), Honda Accord (4830mm), Hyundai Grandeur (4895mm)
SUV / MPV:
Subaru Tribeca (4855mm), KIA Carnival (4810mm), Mazda CX-7 (4680mm), Mazda CX-9 (5074mm), Ford Territory (4856mm), Holden Captiva (4637mm), Mitsubishi Outlander (4640mm), Honda Odyssey (4780mm)
Personally, Toyata Camry is more economic than Falcon and Commodore in terms of acquisition price, fuel consumption and ongoing maitenance cost. It's a polular large sized family sedan. You may get Altise ACV40R, Year 2007, <70000km, 2.4L 4cyl Auto, Front Wheel Drive, Dual Airbag, ANCAP 4, ABS+EBD+Cruise Control, 9.9L/100km Petrol Fuel, at price btw $14,300 - $16,300.
A little bit more:
Toyota Aurion (upgrade of Camry) ~$18K (Y2007)
Hyundai Grandeur TG ~$19K (Y2007)
For budget around $20K-$24K, consider Subaru Liberty Wagon which is only 0.1m shorter than Camry but it's a wagon and safer with AWD and ANCAP 5. Or, Ford Territory AWD Or, Holden Captiva AWD. Or, Honda Accord.
If you can spend >$30K, you may go those All-Wheel-Drive to get extra sapce as well as more controllability. e.g. Subaru Tribecca, Mazda CX-9. |
