Anti-Gay Christian Right Leader George Alan Rekers Caught Returning Home from Vacation with 'Rent Boy'George Alan Rekers, a founding member of the Family Research Council with James Dobson and Amandi Nicholi Jr., was caught returning home from a European vacation in mid-April with a young man he hired on rentboy.com, the Miami New Times reports:
"On April 13, the "rent boy" (whom we'll call Lucien) arrived at Miami International Airport on Iberian Airlines Flight 6123, after a ten-day, fully subsidized trip to Europe. He was soon followed out of customs by an old man with an atavistic mustache and a desperate blond comb-over, pushing an overburdened baggage cart.
That man was George Alan Rekers, of North Miami — the callboy's client and, as it happens, one of America's most prominent anti-gay activists. Rekers, a Baptist minister who is a leading scholar for the Christian right, left the terminal with his gay escort, looking a bit discomfited when a picture of the two was snapped with a hot-pink digital camera.
Reached by New Times before a trip to Bermuda, Rekers said he learned Lucien was a prostitute only midway through their vacation. "I had surgery," Rekers said, "and I can't lift luggage. That's why I hired him." (Though medical problems didn't stop him from pushing the tottering baggage cart through MIA.)
Yet Rekers wouldn't deny he met his slender, blond escort at Rentboy.com — which features homepage images of men in bondage and grainy videos of crotch-rubbing twinks — and Lucien confirmed it.
The paper adds:
"Rekers is a board member of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), an organization that systematically attempts to turn gay people straight. And the Huffington Post recently singled out Rekers as a member of the American College of Pediatricians — an official-sounding outfit in Gainesville that purveys lurid, youth-directed literature accusing gays of en masse coprophilia. (In an email, the college's Lisa Hawkins wrote, 'ACPeds feels privileged to have a scholar of Dr. Rekers' stature affiliated with our organization. I am sure you will find Prof. Rekers to be an immaculate clinician/scholar, and a warm human being.') Rekers lectures worldwide, from Europe to the Middle East, on teen sexuality. Yet during his ten-day sojourn with Lucien to London and Madrid, he had no lectures scheduled. Both men deny having sex on the trip, and emails exchanged between the two before their jaunt are cautiously worded."

All anti-gay Republicans are gay.

Ben Franklin had it wrong. There IS one certain thing besides death and taxes: Christian sexual hypocrisy.

I can't take anymore of this shit!!!
What is wrong with these freaking gay people that are so self-loathing they demonize themselves and the entire community.
Unbelievable.

So he went to rentboy.com to find someone to help him lift luggage?? haha (But, we didn't have sex)

"I had surgery" is the new "I have a wide stance."

Gee, I wonder if OneNewsNow will be headlining with this story today? Since they're all about the "truth". Maybe Rekers was dickmatized by the evil gay online and didn't know what he was doing. They didn't have sex on that trip? Girl, please!
I have to say, I refuse to accept these people as gay. They are straight people who have sex with gay people and then persecute them for it. They are witch-hunting hypocrites and I'm THRILLED every single time I read one of these stories because it just proves the point: you don't get to choose your orientation and God won't "fix" you because there's nothing to fix. These bible-thumping douchebags are going the way of the dinosaurs. Buh-bye! Don't let the screendoor hit ya where the good lord split ya on your way out, assholes!

Classic Freud. They are ALL gay and self-loathing. I feel for poor Lucien—how many drinks with umbrellas do you have to have until the memory of this creep touching you goes away. And the hypocrisy baggage cart keeps rolling along...

Unbelievable?
Not really, just goes to show that self loathing for many people, and the U.S. at large really, is deep, deep down inside...SMH

BRILLIANT. These people are trying to turn gay men straight so they can have all the twink booty to themselves.

Right Pride, we have a new recruit for you!
Ok, click on the links, he has a thing for "protecting" kids. He adopted a 16yr old boy. Why couldn't that 16 yr old accompany him on the trip instead of a prostitute. Sorry, MALE prostitute.

Gay men are like straight men in that some are brave, astonishingly so (like Harvey Milk), and some are cowards.
The most amazing trick of homophobic societies is how they enlist the cowardly gay people to be their biggest cheerleaders and enforcers. The more frightened they are of getting "outed", the more bejewelled and barbed their carpace of hatred and heterosexuality must appear.
George Alan Rekers' story is pathetic, and would be hilarious if it were not for the many people his cowardly, hateful rhetoric has influenced over the years.
I want to have sympathy for him - and view him as an ironic victim of religious and conservative homophobia, but it's difficult. Very difficult. Right now I just want to laugh and point. Oh, and judge.

Oh, my, my, she was caught returning from her overseas trip with her rentboy who was hired to lift her (ahem) "luggage" during their trip together. My goodness gracious, that's the first time I've heard it referred to as "luggage". I hope the ol' fool never lives this one down.

These pathetic closet cases can do whatever they want but when their anti-gay money and actions affect MY life then it is just WRONG!!!! My partner and I have been together nearly 20 years now and we cannot get married in Ohio because of the actions of these freaks!!!
I am gay but to be honest with you I would rather have sex with a woman than that old toad!!!!!!! I hope his "luggage handler" got paid a lot of money!! YAK!
Posted by: James Stone | May 4, 2010 1:21:07 PM
I always go to rentboy.com to find someone to help me with my luggage, and then I usually take them on week-long European vacations, and I'm not gay.
Uh, OK.

- Yeah, he's a loathsome hypocrite - a venomous toad.
But there's nothing I can imagine happening to him more horrible that the life he's chosen for himself. There but for the grace of Armistead Maupin and the public library in my home town go I...
