Miley Cyrusis finally speaking out on controversial photos that show her using herfingers to make her eyes slant, which is considered degrading to Asianpeople.
"I've also been told there are some people upset about some picturestaken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I'm sorry if thosepeople looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!"she writes on her official fansite.
"In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making agoofy face. When did that become newsworthy?" she adds. "It seemssomeone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that wouldof [sic] been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitelyfeel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'!"

Cyrus continues: "I feel like now that Britney is back on top of hergame again, they need someone to pick on! Lucky me! haha Anyway, I justwanted to let you guys know what is on my heart. You guys know me andhave been by my side every step of the way!
"You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me aremy friends, family, fans, and GOD! In NO WAY do I want to disappointany of you! But, when I have made mistakes in the past, I feel likeI've owned up to them and apologized," she adds.

Advocate group OCA released a statement earlier saying the 16 yearold "encouraged and legitimized the taunting and mocking of people ofAsian descent, [and] she has also insulted her many Asian PacificAmerican fans."
This isn't the first time Cyrus has been slammed for photos.
In April 2008, she was criticized by parenting groups after picturessurfaced of her posing in green bra. A few months later, she apologizedafter posing semi-nude in Vanity Fair.
