澳洲移民局将在下一财年承认更多的英语考试类型，用于申请澳洲各类签证，如技术移民，商业移民等。新的语言成绩包括托福，PTE(见下图换算）。这一政策如果实施，将会有一连串的连锁效应，包括语言培训市场，雅思考试难度等。

A summary of test score equivalencies for all English language tests accepted by the department from November 2014 is provided below. Test scores from the TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic tests will be benchmarked against the IELTS equivalent score for each English language proficiency level (Functional, Vocational, Competent, Proficient or Superior).
