In response to your other queries I provide the following information:
Your nominated occupation is currently on the Critical Skills List (CSL)
and Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
The CSL is a list of occupations developed in response to the changing
critical skills needs of Australia. The CSL is reviewed regularly by the
Government to ensure that it remains valid and current in the prevailing
economic circumstances. As such it is subject to change at the discretion
of the Minister for Immigration and we are unable therefore to confirm if
any changes will or how they may affect your application.
The current SOL has over 400 occupations listed on it. The SOL will be
replaced in mid 2010 with a new list of priority occupations, determined by
‘Skills Australia’ to be in national need in the future. The Skills
Australia SOL will deliver a General Skilled Migration (GSM) program more
tightly focused on high value skills that will assist in addressing
Australia’s future skills needs. It will deliver a mix of skills across
managerial, professional, para-professional and trade occupations. This SOL
will align the GSM program with Australia’s overall workforce development
strategy, also developed by Skills Australia.
Skills Australia has been established by the Australian Government to
provide expert and independent advice to the Deputy Prime Minister on
matters relating to Australia’s current, emerging and future workforce
skills and workforce development needs.
Skills Australia is currently undertaking research to identify priority
occupations of which the nation must ensure there is an adequate supply.
The Skills Australia based SOL will commence from mid 2010.
This new SOL will apply to new GSM applications made from mid 2010, unless
the applicant at the date of announcement:
* holds a Subclass 485 (Skilled - Graduate) visa or has applied for a
Subclass 485 (Skilled - Graduate) visa and is yet to apply for a
provisional or permanent GSM visa; or
* had a pending application for a GSM visa.
Therefore your application will not be affected by the new SOL.
The CADGEDC verification has been requested in regards to your claim for
community language bonus points and if verified should be satisfactory for
this requirment.
Should the case officer require any further documentation from you, we will
request this at a later stage.
