We are unable to hike at Blue Mountains National Park for a while due to continuous floods and many unexpected track closures very recently. However, we could walk some coastal track near Sydney for safety reason. Following last Sunday coastal walk from Split Bridge to Manly, we are going to start at the same starting point “Split Bridge” but to another direction “Taronga Zoo” for this Sunday Feb 19 2012. This return track is 20 KM, which could be completed for 3 -7 hours, depending on your own fitness. (6 km/hour is a fair speed for very fitness person).
Split Bridge to Taronga Zoo (2x10 KM return track, 5-7 hours)
This is a scenic and culturally rich walk with views over Sydney Harbour and many interesting heritage buildings along the way. The start at the zoo allows for a possible visit. The walk then passes the Bacino Bar on the way through the military heritage buildings. This is an excellent walk to do on a hot summer's day, with access to beautiful beaches along the whole walk.
