A South Korean tourist has been shot dead by soldiers at a holiday resort inside North Korea.
Our North Asia correspondent, Shane McLeod, reports the 53-year-old woman was walking on the beach at the Mount Kumgang resort in North Korea when she was shot.
North Korea says she had strayed into a prohibited area and that she ran when soldiers ordered her to stop.
She was shot in the chest and leg and died shortly afterwards.
Tours to the popular resort area have been suspended, and South Korea's government says the incident is deeply regrettable.
South Koreans have been able to visit the resort since 1998 - it's one of two cross-border projects developed by the south to boost economic ties between the two countries.
