i remember GM ranks no. 2 on overall quality after toyota according to a survey in us, and some european luxury brands such as mecedez or audi ranks after 10. and holden is part of GM, also export large cars to us under GM's brand.
but this kind of quality according to survey doesn't mean anything, japanese cars generally ranks better because they have much less problems in first 3 years, and the survey only counts the new car buyer. after a while, japanese cars won't design to last that long, and other things such as crash safety is not in the concern of quality as well..so it doesn't mean 'good quality' new cars would be good quality 2nd handed cars. and us/australia cars are less defined, lot more small problems comparing to others especially while new, doesn't necessarily mean the overall quality is that lower than others in fact. |
