SHORT TERM STAY
Required documents for nationals of :
China, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgiz, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Angola, Liberia, Rwand aand Sierra Leone
with temporary resident visa holders (student / bridging) of Australia to apply for the following visas to Japan.
Visa requirements may differ according to applicant's visa status in Australia. Please refer to Visa Section, if you have further questions.
Temporary Visitor (Holiday, Visiting Friends, Business, Attending a conference)
or Transit
The following must be submitted with the application for the visa:
1. A valid passport with a valid Australian visa
2. One completed Visa application form
3. One passport sized photo (taken within 6 months)
4. Student ID / Certificate of Employment (If applicable)
5. Bank statements of your saving or investment accounts for the last 3 months with a current balance
6. The documents listed below must be provided by your guarantor in Japan.
A) A letter of guarantee / invitation from your relative or friend living in Japan.
B) An itinerary for your stay
C) ①If your guarantor is a Japanese national
- A current Residential Certificate (Jyu-min hyo)
- Family Register (Koseki tohon)
- An Employment Certificate (Zaishoku shomei) issued by the company, if the guarantor is a company employee.
or
- A Company's Registration issued by the Legal Affairs Bureau, if the guarantor is a company director.
or
- A copy of Business Permission Certificate (Eigyo kyoka sho), if the guarantor is self-employed.
②If your guarantor is NOT a Japanese national
- Certificate of Alien Registration
- A copy of guarantor's passport
- An Employment Certificate (Zaishoku shomei) issued by the company, if the guarantor is a company employee
or
- A Company's Registration issued by the Legal Affairs Bureau, if the guarantor is a company director.
or
- A copy of Business Permission Certificate (Eigyo kyoka sho), if the guarantor is self-employed.
- Certificate of Alien Registration
D) Guarantor's Tax Certificate showing annual income issued by the Mayor's office, the head of the Ward's office, or taxation office in Japan. “Gensen cho shu sho” is not accepted.
E) Guarantor's Certificate of Seal Registration issued by the Mayor's office or the Head Ward's office in Japan.
☆ Additional documents may be required if necessary.
☆ Visa applications must be referred to Japan.
It normally takes 2 weeks ~ 2 months to process.
☆ When requesting the return of passports by mail, please enclose a SELF-ADDRESSED PREPAID Registered Post envelope (available from Australia Post) and please allow extra time for the mail delay.
