若你能去就太好啦 。。。还详细计划还没有成型, 初步计划2周时间, 这次也不想搞得太辛苦。。

欢迎有兴趣的同学一起准备, 共同讨论

继续资料积累:

Safe driving tips

    * Speed can cause accidents on Fraser Island. Please drive slowly, especially around bends, and give way to on-coming vehicles.
    * Reversing bays can be found at regular intervals on many roads.
    * The inland speed limit is 30 kilometres per hour.
    * Sand tracks deteriorate in dry weather.
    * Be alert at all times and don’t drive tired.
    * Don’t overload the top of your 4WD – it can easily cause the vehicle to topple over.
    * Reduce tyre pressure.
    * When planning a self-drive trip to Fraser Island, be sure to consider the tides. The eastern beach at low tide is the quickest way to get along the island.
    * Regular road rules apply on 75 Mile Beach, with a maximum speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour. Watch out for creek drop-offs on the beach.

Guided Tours

One-day, two-day, and three-day escorted 4WD tours depart daily from Hervey Bay and Rainbow Beach. Tours also depart from major accommodation resorts on Fraser Island.
Permits

All vehicles travelling on Fraser Island must have a valid Recreation Areas Management (RAM) access permit affixed to the left hand side of the windscreen.

All permits must be purchased before arriving on Fraser Island.

我想gold coast ,byron bay 以南地区,long weekend就可成行, 不想占用long holiday, 我的原计划第一站直接开到Gold coast 或附近地区...不到900多公里大概10个-11小时左右(早7:00am-6 or 7:00.pm)。。。 不过也不介意中间停一天

Should be Tin Can Bay

Tin Can Bay is located on the Fraser Coast in Queensland, just north of Rainbow Beach. You can get to Tin Can Bay by heading East from Gympie. The attractive drive, passes plenty of fantastic landscape scenery along the way and so is worth the effort.

Tin Can Bay is a very pretty place, with its main attraction being the early morning dolphin feeding.

Tin Can Bay is one of only three places around the whole of Australia, where you can officially hand feed dolphins in the wild.

If you are interested in feeding the dolphins you should head to Barnacles Bait and Cafe, which is located at the end of the Tin Can Bay Marina.

Barnacles Cafe is open from 7am each day, so arrive early, enjoy a coffee or snack and take in the views as the dolphins make their way in.

Feeding starts at about 8 am. The dolphins generally arrive quite early and depart soon after feeding, so please plan to arrive between 7.00am and 8.00am. As dolphins are wild animals these times can not be guaranteed but the earlier you arrive the more chance of success.

Fish for feeding is available on site. As of 4th December 2009, fish for feeding is $5.00 per person to cover costs.

The dolphins that you will see at Tin Can Bay are Pacific Humpback Dolphins, which are slightly different in shape to the well known Bottlenose Dolphins.

Due to the fact that the dolphins are wild, times cannot be guaranteed. It is worth arriving well before 8am to maximise your opportunity of feeding the dolphins.

There are a number of rules to abide by which the volunteers will explain. Only fish purchased at the site can be fed to the dolphins with a maximum of 3kg fed to each dolphin per day. Please no flash photography and only enter the water with a volunteer.

Tin Can Bay also offers dolphin cruises, allowing you to see the dolphins and the beautiful bay from the water, as well as deep sea fishing.

TANGALOOMA IS ALSO A GOOD SPOT TO FEED THE DOLPHINS

Whether you are an avid angler or a holiday fisherman, North Stradbroke Island offers plenty of places to cast a line or launch your boat.

For the more adventurous angler, fishing charters are terrific way to spend the day. Take a tour out into the open waters surrounding North Stradbroke Island in search of the big catch.

Boat Fishing

Only 5 minutes from the beach, on the fishing grounds around Flat Rock, Boat Rock and the Group, boat fishermen bottom-bounce for snapper and sweetlip, and troll lures and bait for Spanish mackeral.

International visitors all agree - they have never caught so many good fish in one day as they have after a day's fishing off North Stradbroke Island.

Beach Fishing

Surf fishermen take good catches of whiting, dart, flathead, bream and tailor from gutters along Flinders and Main Beaches.

Those spinning with lures from the rock headlands can expect hook- ups from trevally and yellowtail kingfish.

Beach Fishing at Flinders Beach on North Stradbroke Island

The fishing at Jumpinpin (known as The Pin) at the southern tip of North Stradbroke Island is legendary for large catches of Bream. The Pin can be accessed by 4WD at low tide along Main Beach.
Fishing Near the Amity Jetty

Jetty Fishing

On North Stradbroke Island, fishing with the kids is also well catered for.
Jetties at Amity and Dunwich on the western (calm side) of the island allow the family to catch fish such as whiting, bream and flathead in a safe family environment. The jetties are also well lit to allow easy night fishing.

BIG4 Harrington Holiday Park

# Crowdy Head: Crowdy Head just five minutes drive from Harrington, is a small, quaint fishing village featuring spectacular 360 degree ocean views from the lighthouse lookout, ideal for whale watching. A seafood co-op for sourcing freshly caught seafood. Fishing charters, coastal tours and whale watching off Crowdy Head are available through Crowdy Bay Charters Ph: 02 6591 3467 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              02 6591 3467      end_of_the_skype_highlighting. Crowdy Head Beach is patrolled during the summer months and sweeps in a long arc to Diamond Head Beach. Beach permits required.

# Pilot Hill Lookout: Pilot Hill Lookout has significant historical ties to the seaside village of Harrington. Established in the 1860s it was manned for nearly a century. The gravesites at this lookout are a marker of the pilots whose job it was to assist navigation for the increasing and prosperous cargo and passenger trade over the dangerous sand bar.

# Mondrook Garden Café and Gallery near Tinonee: A pleasant spot for lunch or morning/ afternoon tea with beautiful gardens and an abundance of ducks and birds.

# Drive to Kendall, the pretty village named in honour of our famous poet Henry Kendall: You’ll see many interesting and tempting craft shops. You might like to have lunch at the Lorne Valley Macadamia Farm, or take a walk around the town following the Poet’s Walk which is fully signposted.

# To the south, Possum Brush Gallery: Worth a visit to view their excellent woodwork, pottery and other artwork- open 10am to 4pm, every day during the school holidays, and Thursday to Sunday at other times of the year.

# Visit Historic Wingham: Find out about our history or stroll around the heritage-listed town. Indulge in a spot of nostalgia at the Historical Museum. Why not have a picnic at Wingham Brush and see amazing fruit bats? You can also walk through the rainforest on the boardwalk. At sunset, thousands of flying foxes emerge in search of food.

# Visit Ellenborough Falls for a day outing: If you’re fit enough, walk to the bottom of the falls and climb up again for magnificent waterfall views. There are picnic areas and a kiosk at the falls.

# Take a drive through Coorabakh National Park: Have a picnic at Starrs Creek Rainforest, then stroll along the boardwalk. Take in the spectacular views from Flat Rock lookout which is perched on top of a breathtaking 500m drop. If you’re feeling energetic, try the climb to the summit of Big Nellie, 560m above sea level. There are many threatened animal and bird species living throughout the park.

# Brimbin Nature Reserve: A short drive from Taree for pleasant gentle bushwalking, having a picnic and bird-watching…

# Tapin Tops National Park: Worth a visit for its spectacular views from several lookouts and it is part of the traditional lands of the local Biripi people. The park is accessed from Dingo Tops Road at Wherrol Flat.

# Manning River Boat Cruise: Why not take a boat ride to Manning Point or a leisurely cruise up the river to Taree?
Contact Manning Point Marine on 02 6553 2683 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              02 6553 2683      end_of_the_skype_highlighting to arrange an outing on the lovely river.

# The pretty village of Hannam Vale: A short drive from Harrington where the little café serves luscious Devonshire teas (often accompanied by light jazz music on Sunday
afternoons), and the views over the hinterland from Hannam Vale Road are beautiful, especially in summer when the flame trees and jacarandas add gorgeous colour

# Ton O' Fun: Children will love visiting Ton O' Fun on The Lakes Way near Forster.
Try out giant waterslides, ride go-karts, play mini golf and enjoy lots of fun activities. Open 10am – 4pm weekends and school holidays.

# The Big Buzz Fun Park: Another fun place for children is The Big Buzz Fun Park, also on The Lakes Way.
There are three waterslides, super trikes, mountain boards and many other activities – also open 10am – 4pm weekends and school holidays

Fraser Island stretches over 123 kilometres in length and 22 kilometres at its widest point. With an area of 184 000 hectares it is the largest sand island in the world.

Fraser Island's World Heritage listing ranks it with Australia's Uluru, Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Island is a precious part of Australia's natural and cultural heritage, it is protected for all to appreciate and enjoy.

Highlights of Fraser Island

There are many reasons why people choose to visit Fraser Island. From our experience, these range from ‘relaxation’, ‘getting away from it all’ to having a ‘break with the family’. Some of the sights that people come to the island for are:

    * The Amazing Lakes of the Island. There are 52 freshwater lakes including Lake Mckenzie.
    * Maheno Shipwreck-washed ashore in a cyclone in 1935 whilst being towed to Japan for wrecking.
    * Eli Creek a natural water outlet into the ocean that will draw a crowd any day of the year for a refreshing dip in its cool waters.
    * Coloured Sands- an amazing sight with an array of different colours in the sand highlighting Fraser’s evolution over the last 400,000 years.
    * Sand Dune Systems
    * Indian Head- named by Captain Cook during his travels up the Queensland coast. It is said that he named the point after he had seen a group of Aborigines on the headland, hence, “Indian Head.”
    * Highlights of Fraser Island
Indian Head, Fraser IslandChampagne Pools- an amazing series of rock pools filled up by tidal movement. Makes for a lovely stroll from Indian Head along the beach.
    * 75 Mile Beach- one of the only beaches in the world designated as both a highway and an airstrip. Enjoy a drive along Fraser Island’s eastern beach but look out for incoming planes conducting scenic flghts.
    * Rainforests at Pile Valley and Central Station- the only place in the world where Rainforest grows in sand. Come and see the massive trees that established Fraser Island as one of the world’s suppliers on timber during the last 1800’s and early 1900’s.
    * Fraser Island’s Great Walk. Fraser’s Great Walk offers a wide variety of walking tracks from 1 Day up to a full 11-Day Hike.

Camping information

Camping is a great way to experience the Australian bush and to see wildlife. Parks and forests offer a range of camping opportunities, from remote campsites for bushwalkers to campgrounds with toilets, picnic tables and sites for camper trailers and caravans as well as tents.

Campgrounds in parks and forests are different from commercially operated campgrounds. Native trees and shrubs grow in and around each campground, providing habitat for wildlife. There are no sites with electricity. If showers are provided, they are usually not heated. Generators are restricted or not permitted, so that campers can enjoy the quiet and the sounds of the bush at night.

In school holidays, on long weekends and at other peak times, there is high demand for campsites in many parks and forests. It is important to obtain information and book your campsite well in advance for these times.

Essentials to bring
Camping can be fun provided you are well prepared and take the right equipment. Remember to take:

waterproof tent, poles and pegs
blade or screw-style pegs and mallet
fuel stove, fuel supply and waterproof matches
bags for rubbish and storage
drinking water
sufficient non-perishable food and other supplies
cooking utensils
sleeping bag and mat, or a swag or other bedding
suitable clothing and sturdy shoes
wet weather gear (e.g. raincoat or waterproof jacket)
insect repellent
hat and sunscreen
suitable first-aid kit
binoculars and camera
map, brochure and compass
torch for walking at night
broadcast radio (for weather forecasts) and spare batteries
two-way radio and extra fuel (if camping in remote places)
It's a good idea to pack a gas or liquid fuel stove for camping trips. Open fires are prohibited in some parks. Where fires are allowed, firewood may not be supplied. Collecting firewood from the bush is not allowed.

In parks where campfires are allowed, make sure you completely extinguish all fires (with water, not sand or dirt) before leaving an area or going to bed. Even a few glowing embers can start a wildfire. Heavy fines may apply if campfires or other unshielded flames are left unattended.

Staying safe
Be aware of potential dangers and take care of yourself.

Plan carefully and make sure your camping equipment and vehicle or boat are in good working order.
Read signs and brochures carefully. Pay attention to any safety warnings.
Supervise your children, especially near water and in areas where there are potentially dangerous wildlife such as dingoes, crocodiles and cassowaries.
Don’t assume water is safe to drink. Boil or treat water before use.
Keep your food in locked containers or in your car to keep it safe from wildlife.
Extinguish fires whenever you leave your campsite unattended; use water, not sand, which retains heat and can cause severe burns.
Wear protective clothing to avoid sunburn, bites, scratches and stings.
Never feed or provoke wild animals.
Be wary of wild animals, including crocodiles, dangerous stinging jellyfish, snakes, dingoes, cassowaries, feral pigs, cattle, horses and buffaloes.
Protect yourself when camping on island national parks by taking these steps.

Take extra supplies in case you get stranded by sudden changes in the weather.
Be aware of tidal variations and strong currents. Anchor boats securely.
Be alert for sudden weather changes, particularly storms and cyclones. Be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
Carry a marine band radio and transceiver as many sites are out of range for mobile phones.
