A 34-year-old woman was grabbed and "forcibly removed" from her Holden Commodore during a car-jacking in Brunswick, in Melbourne's inner north, this morning.
The North Balwyn woman was sitting in her car in Donald Street, Brunswick, when a man appeared at the driver's side door shortly before 11am, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
It is believed he demanded the woman get out of the 2005 silver Holden Commodore station wagon. No weapon was used in the incident.
"As the woman attempted to get out of her car, he grabbed her and forcibly removed her from the vehicle," the spokeswoman said.
"The woman was not injured during the incident."
She said the man was last seen driving south on Holmes Street.
Police have urged anyone who sees the station wagon, with the registration TWM 748, not to touch it and to contact them immediately.
The man is described as of southern European appearance, about 35 years old and 170 centimetres tall, with short dark hair and a slim build.
