everytime when people talk about Australian film/tv, it always reminds me of the tv miniseries "the Thorn Birds" . Author of the novel is Colleen McCullougwho is Australian, but the TV was made by the US: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thorn_Birds_(TV_miniseries)
