Pill keeps weight off
A pill that may "lock in "weight loss and allows dieters to return to normal eating without pilling on the kilos is now available,scientists claim.Researchers say the pill,a dietary supplement called alpha-lipoic acid that is widely sold in health food shops,works in tandem with a dieting plan.
A weight loss program for six months is the first stage,followed by use of the pills,which have the added benefit of an anti-ageing effect.
But the claims have triggered a row over whether research findings made in rats apply to humans.
Malcolm Goyns,director of Immorgene Concepts,the scientific research company in england that led the research,said he was sufficiently convinced to try approach himself.
"It seems alpha-lipoic acid fools the body into behaving as if t was still on whatever diet it was following,"he said.
