在WA如何考驾照呢？（完结篇，更新在52楼）
在perth没车太不方便了，完全就是小鸟没翅我现在对西澳考驾照一无所知。在论坛上看了一些，对于政策大家众说纷纭。
目前知道的关于交通的信息：
1.目前我只知道似乎留学生是可以不用考理论考试和路考，用翻译件就可以直接开车的。
2.移民必须考驾照，理论和路考都要。（虽然警察不经常查，但我还是决定再麻烦都做个遵纪守法的好公民，嘿嘿）
3.在city有卖perth transit的公交卡的，似乎可以打8折？这个不清楚。如果想知道每个站的公车的到站情况，可以将站号（车站会写，五位数的号码），发送到136213，就可以得到班次的信息。非常方便，而且存在手机里也方便查看。
我目前的问题是：
1.在perth哪里翻译驾照呢？
2.理论考题的地址，最新的网站地址是哪个？
3.考试的地方是city哪里呢？
4.都说西澳驾照路考比较好考，那需要请一个教练讲解下路考考点之类的信息么？考试中心会提供推荐教练的服务么？
5.考试费用是怎样的呢？
这些问题又待我一步一步确定。有知道的同学，可以帮忙提供信息么？

千萬，絕對，禁止在任何的情況下無照駕駛或者是翻譯件逾期後繼續開車，這是有刑事的責任，就是出事會坐牢的意思。 我在这里学的车，路考第五次才过。 新西兰的驾照去西澳洲怎么转换？。。。是可以驾驶HR类别的。。。谢谢。。。

是的。而且三个月是从准签开始算的。大部分新移民长登的时候都超过三个月了。所以这个政策对我们来说几乎没用。

If you are a visitor to Western Australia (WA), you may drive on your overseas licence, for as long as it remains valid in the country of issue. If your overseas licence ceases to be valid, you must apply for a WA licence if you wish to continue driving.
If you hold a permanent resident visa, you can drive on your overseas licence until you have resided in WA for 3 months. After this time you will need to apply for a WA driver’s licence.
To be able to drive on WA roads with your overseas driver's licence (and International Driving Permit, if applicable), you must:
* Hold a current licence that is not suspended or cancelled (you cannot drive on your overseas licence if you are disqualified from driving or your driving privileges are withdrawn)
* Carry your licence (and International Driving Permit, if applicable) with you at all times while driving and show it to a police officer if asked to do so
* Drive only those vehicles that you are authorised to drive
* Comply with any other conditions of your licence.
If your overseas licence is not in English, you must carry an International Driving Permit or an approved English translation of your licence (if you have either of these) with you when you drive. For information on translation services please refer to our web page on other languages.
红字部分说的很清楚了，关键是定居（resided）一词。
持永久签证者从定居西澳起三个月内（until you have resided in WA for 3 months），符合上述的各种条件者，仍可使用国外驾照。
和拿到签证的日期不是一个概念 目前有分歧的是三个月从首次登陆开始算还是从长登开始算，我理解长登才算定居，短登只能算旅游:lol 我查的最新的网站（中文翻译版）上面写的是“从拿到签证开始3个月”。所以，这个在网站上是自相矛盾的。
顿时我就茫然了。
猜也没用。我刚刚直接打到perth的咨询中心。
我先打了这个电话（085516000），接线员给了我这个电话131156。然后就开始等，等，等。中间听到无数信息，就当练习听力了。
然后终于等到咨询员，问了迷惑的我们大家好久好久的问题。
等到回答如下：
新移民是可以从登陆开始算，3个月，只要去翻译了，就可以有3个月的驾驶期。
太棒了！！！:loveliness:
看来下一步应该是买车，驾照翻译。

这个已经讨论过很多次了。官方也很混乱，但这个罪名责任重大，可不能自行理解。如果没有官方书面答复的证据，就乖乖的按初次登陆三个月算吧。风险有：
1. 被警察抓住算无证驾驶。
2. 出事故后保险公司以无证驾驶为由不予理赔。。。这个会让人破产的。

可以通过下列两个途径之一提出有关免费获得DIAC译本的询问
成人移民英语课程 (AMEP)的提供者：
• 西部科技学院AMEP (Polytechnic West AMEP)
Carlisle：9267 7335；Thornlie： 9267 7609；Balga：9207 4278；Fremantle：9336 7173
• 中央科技学院 (Central Institute of Technology)
Perth 校园：9427 1377
另有一点提醒刚来的同学，去任何地方办事情，先确定open hours。

怎么翻也翻不出从拿到签证开始3个月的意思。

嗯，我已经根据我的情况写信去问了，收到结果再来feedback。 我个人的揣测是：只要短登了就算是resident了。因为他们应该不在乎是短登还是长登，只要有入境记录就证明你来居住了。之后去哪里他们不管。 官方的文件是互相矛盾
网站的pdf文件 说的是 有了pr 之后3个月
但在他们的drive safe 手册， 说的确实是 after you reside in wa 3个月
有了这个手册在手， 和 签证的盖章， 就算jc查了， 咱也不怕;P 网页上说的很明白了，某些pdf的文件还没有更新
一切也网页上吗说的为准。 wa交通局网站上反馈分类很细，由于不很确定，因此给两个反馈的链接发了邮件，均收到答复。
我写给交通局邮件的大概内容：说明我2011.1拿到签证，2011.4月为激活签证短登perth3周，然后回到中国，计划2012.3.15长登西澳，并且至少居住一年，询问在2012.3.15-2012.6.15期间我能否使用我的有效海外驾照。
答复一“You have 3 months from being granted permanent residency regardles if you are in Australia or not, therefore if you were granted permanency over 3 months ago you will have to attend a Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) for a learners Permit and cannot drive without a supervisor in the vehicle who has held the same class of Australian licence for a minimum of 4 years. ”落款是John Senior ConsultantCommunications TeamDriver and Vehicle ServicesDepartment of Transport

答复二“I am pleased to advise, that as you are a holder of a permanent visa granted under the Migration Act 1958 you are authorised to drive in WA on a valid overseas licence, until you are considered to have usually resided in WA for three months since the granting of the permanent visa. In your case residency would be considered to commence from your proposed entry date on 15 March 2012.”落款是Driver and Vehicle ServicesThe Department of Transport

翻译很简单，拿护照，驾照。（不用任何复印和任何人的签字）

上三楼。
按照办事员的指引，填表，签字之类，就一切ok了。
据说是2-6周可以寄到家里。
