I got roughly idea which company you work with. you are at the much higher level than me. it is too hard for me to read the specific, not even to be a verifier like you.
are you working at the Dubai Tower? our company ANZAC headquarter has moved to Dubai.

so sorry everyone,
just contact the HR.
because most of the mining project related to BHP and Rio has been stopped, a lot of empolyees cut off job load there. the HR has to arrange them within the company to the other projects.
they has stopped recruit recently.
so sorry have not much update understanding for the market as located in the project office at the moment.

in my mind, all the company need staff months ago, I have received so many annoying phonecall from different companys.
the HR reply:
(At this time we don’t have any vacancies for Engineers or Drafters as the recession but I would be happy to take your friend’s application and file if for a role that may become available in the future,)
hope the project i am working on will last longer, so I will not be laid off.

对不起，好像看错你的名字了，少了一个字母。眼神差点了。

其实我还有两年移民监的问题，我是很想回，就像当初没发决定来。但实际生活哪里能如此潇洒？两年中国，两年澳洲？其实在一个地方呆久了，就很难再轻易的挪到另一个地方。比如我现在回国了，很难想象两年我就会回来。也许就再也回不来了。

哦,补充一下,我还从事过道路桥梁排水等类别工程设计.也参与过设计部门的管理工作.
到了澳洲之后,我想先上TAFE,可不知道可以上哪一科目的课程(工程类),比较容易找工作.谢谢指点哦!!

咨询一下，我硕士毕业，虽然硕士的专业与结构无关（本科有关），但自从工作后一直干的是civil engineer。做过民用和化工的结构设计，现在不做具体设计，但要经常看设计院交过来的图纸。
我是07年8月的136，漫长的等待后总算是分到CO了，现在想着是登陆后如何生存的问题。
我想问的是，我是否有必要读读书来适应一下澳洲的环境，读什么好？
还是重点放在英语上，好好突破一下？
我手里没有澳洲规范，但有点英国规范。一直没有好好看，是否看看为佳？

另看了前面的帖子我准备找个etabs看看，以前没有用过。

我是国内的工民建本科，毕业后在电信单位做甲方，
后跳槽到房地产行业，管理类的，基本上就是五六年都没有搞纯技术，
刚刚移民，灰常的焦虑，想请教各位前辈，我应该怎样定位呢？

从结构DRAFTER做起么？CAD我还熟，澳洲的流行软件就不熟了。
还是找个junior的设计工作从头补？
还是需要读个什么专业课程先？
长期发展来看的话，该从哪里开始起步更好呢？

But because of the worry of recession, every company is not willing to be aggressive now

site engineer need more English coordination skills.
they sometimes work like a site coordinate.
1. site engineer need compile project progress timetable.
2. they need communicate with the designer to change the design sometimes.
3. they need to communicate to the other stakeholder, like electric, drain, water, telecom.
4.they need to organise daily work assign to foreman, check, receip, or reject tthe project
5.they need to organise the materials, so most estimator need the site engineer experience.
6. NOT KNOW YET

8....
ANY WAY, YOU NEED HIGH COMMUNICATION SKILLS. between design, builder, stakeholder, well organised skills.

you have to have the ability to deal with "Relationships". some of the locals is really less educated but have experince, some good and kind, some bad and rude, you have to make them listen to you.
some of the site engineer here, from India, sometimes I feel they are embrassing themself. although they want to do a good job.
sometimes, they just like beg the designer, builder, to get the work done. and noboday treat them important.

One of the drainage i am working with is graducated from OXFORD university. come to OZ more than 2 years. typical English man.
when we finish our job, have to pass to him to put the drainage, swale on.
I gave it 1 o'clock at noon. tell me the manger want this first, and we need to put it on the first prioprity.
he response he will do it late afternoon or the first thing next moring.
but 10 days later, the drawing and documents sitll on his desk.
i have remind the manager many times about the urgent package he is looking, hope the boss will tracing him.
the boss senT email around like this"There have been concerns raised in the past few weeks over completeness of xxxxxx designs, in particular relating to drainage and xxxxxx....." rather than speak to him, the oxford looks so anxiety...
so do not worry about that, you can get the job and better than OXFORD GRADUCATE.

不知道你所说的水利是不是hygology，或者urban hygology,如果是的化，那么我个人感觉澳洲hygology和我想象中的不同，尤其是Unsw的，主要是防洪，我听了半年的课程，怎么说那，太侧重研究，老师人不错，也是目前几个澳洲这方面通用软件的开发者之一，
uts也是将防洪，不过关于管道拉，hydraulic什么的，还讲一些， unsw基本一点都不讲，问了问班里的同学，都说这个方向
主要方向和climate change关系很大，班里面一般的phd,还都是白人，有一个abc和我关系不错，以前是水文局的，后来觉得无趣，出来继续读phd，

我感觉这里可能水处理能好找一些，当然不是现在，如果是hygology,我觉得不是很好找

尤其在syd and ,mel不多，防洪基本上都是昆士兰，而且毕业后基本都是政府公司，或者政府机关，我觉得有难度，班里那个abc毕竟和咱们不同，他在这里长大

有一些所谓的水工程，都是中国的给排水，比如水厂，或者污水管什么的，好像最近还可以，悉尼大约有4家比较大的， pb, mwh,等等吧，都是做市政水的，不过给排水这个专业unsw没这个课程，uts在防洪里面有几个lecture和这个相关
