What software needs to be installed to display Chinese Characters?

The computer in my office is running on the English version of Windows XP. It does not go along with Chinese Characters. When I open a Chinese Doc with MS Word, the Chinese characters are displayed properly. However, I have got a lot of documents with Chinese file names and directory names which can not be properly displayed in Windows explorer. Furthermore, I also can not input Chinese Characters on my PC. It is inconvenient sometimes.

Is there anyone who can tell me what software I need to install to achieve this?

Just ask your IT to install asia language support for you which is an optional component of windows. That will fix the problem.
