我昨天收到的邮件,大家看看是怎么回事???
This is an important email regarding your eligibility to emigrate to Australia. Please take the time to read it.
We received a notification this week that the Australian Government has released issues papers for, and called for comments to, the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) review.
While full details will not be released until later in the year, there is every sign that this latest MODL review will result in serious, lasting changes to the Australian General Skilled Migration (GSM) program.
What changes can be expected to come from this MODL review?
The details of the review are scheduled to be handed to the Australian government in the coming months, but we anticipate that some (or possibly all) of the following changes will take place:
Occupations will be removed from the MODL, resulting in fewer people being eligible for additional points towards the Australian immigration points test.
The Critical Skills List (CSL) will remain in place while the review is in progress and then be phased out following the implementation of any recommendations flowing from the review.
The MODL will be integrated with the CSL and possibly the points test too, creating one all-encompassing migration tool that will determine exactly which occupations will be most in demand, the points allocation for these occupations and the according processing timeframes.
The older ASCO (Australian Standard Classification of Occupations) will be replaced by the ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations).
What do these potential changes mean to you?
At this point in time, we're unsure of the impact the MODL review will have on applicants. However, with such new eligibility requirements such as specific targeted work experience possible, it's likely that the requirements and process involved in applying for an Australian visa will look very different to what it currently stands at right now.
Changes of similar magnitude were made to the GSM program in September 2007, and as a result many aspects of the points test, English language and work experience requirements were amended. While these changes did not affect everybody, they did result in a number of potential applicants having their Australian visa options restricted, especially tradespeople.
What should you do now?
Many people considering migration to Australia will be relying on the MODL to score enough points to qualify for an unrestricted permanent visa. You should not take for granted that you will be able to claim these points in the future and so if you have been seriously thinking about emigrating now or in the future, it would a good idea to look into getting the process started ASAP, and we strongly encourage you to get a visa lodged sooner rather than later.
Please complete the online assessment to see if you meet the current requirements. A migration consultant will then call you to discuss your options and plans for Australia.
If you would like some more information on the announcement, additional details can be found on our blog at www.visabureau.com/blog/post/mod ... gram-expected.aspx.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
