Business Development Manager - Asia Territory

Location: Milsons Point NSW 2061
Description:
Report to the Managing Director.
Grow market share and revenues in Asian territory.
Manage, develop, and support the reseller, partner and end user relationships throughout Asia.
Seek channel partners and build up sales network in each country.
Devise tailored, customized software and training solutions for corporate, government and academic clients. Work with clients to create solutions that include software licenses, maintenance, and training - all tailored to client's particular needs.
Proactively seek out and follow up on all new corporate client sales leads.
Occasional travel to client sites and perform corporate sales demonstrations.
Take incoming sales calls and email inquiries. Take all orders of all sizes and amounts for software and services.
Engage in dialogue with client to determine needs and best combination of software and services to meet those needs for small and large orders/enquiries alike. Attempt to “up sell” all client inquiries to the most appropriate software/training solution to solve their problems.
Respond to operational problems that may arise in the small office.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Sales experience to Asia clients/resellers is highly appreciated.
Three years experience selling software to corporate clients.
Experience managing operational aspects of a department or company.
Some statistical background. The software is very quantitative and statistically oriented, so candidate should be able to understand software well enough to demonstrate it to clients. Familiarity with @RISK, Monte Carlo simulation, or probabilistic analysis preferred.
Ability to work in a small office with under five other people.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate activities effectively to headquarters in New York.
Flexible nature - able to adapt to different job duties as required.
Bachelor's degree. MBA (or equivalent experience) preferred.
Asia Language skills such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean are a big plus.
