Bank B London Branch Network Management Project, London, GB
Project included HP Openview NNM, Cisco CiscoWorks and a third-party reporting software named “MAS-N”. Implement the system at Bank B London Branch, which is the Hub site for the whole Bank B network in Europe. System controls more than 10 spoke sites such as Paris, Frankfurt and Brussels.
BB China Life Management Cycle, China
Designed and did maintenance for the WAN part of BB China network which is controlled by AT&T LCM team. Consulted about the whole WAN network which has more than 30 sites in China mainland. Provided technical plan and implementation plan for the MACD (Move, Add, Change and Delete) cases. Supported tier-2 and tier-3 customer service engineers at Global Customer Service Center Singapore for BB cases.
BB network in china has more than 30 sites, all the sites are connected with ATM, SDH, FR or leased line (some sites have ISDN backup). The backbone, includes four tire-2 sites, is running BGP with private ASN. Most of the spoke sites (tire-3 sites) are running iBGP or OSPF as the routing protocol. There are two Internet access points in China, the one in Beijing have 2x80M multihoming Internet links and the one in Shanghai have 2x10M singlehoming links. The whole designing and implementing tasks of these two Internet connections were done by me.

Small ISP Network Design, Beijing/Shanghai, China
Designed and implemented the whole ISP network system, which provided HFC/LAN access service, PSDN/ISDN dial-up access service, leased line/Frame Relay access service, E-mail service, Web Hosting service and DNS service for more than 5,000 household subscribers and more than 40 enterprise clients both at Beijing and Shanghai, China.
By using Terayon CMTS system, ITBN provides broadband Internet access service for residential area subscribers in Beijing. During the designing and implementing of the CATV network, I learned the common technologies of CATV network. Having clear understanding of CATV network infrastructure, I led the CATV network bi-direction upgrading project for more than 4 residential areas.
Assisted the application of Patent No. 00135838.3 “Using a combined HFC and LAN network to provide broadband access service”.
Implement the OSPF routing protocol in ITBN network, Beijing/Shanghai, China
Evaluated many IGP routing protocols including OSPF, RIP, EIGRP and IS-IS, compared routing protocol scalability and functions. Finally selected and configured network system with OSPF routing protocol over the network backbone.
Managed monitoring tools, Beijing/Shanghai, China
Selected and implemented network management tools which can collect and examine information continuously and have automatic notifications alert system. They are BigBrother, MRTG and VisualPulse. Managed bandwidth control product which can examine a stream of network traffic and service requests.
Developed Policy-based Routing for subscribers, Beijing/Shanghai, China
For offering better service for valuable clients, ITBN acquired 3 different Internet uplinks. Devised the Policy-based Routing system to identify them from the mass traffic and forward the data from those valuable clients to the better Internet uplink.
VoIP (Voice over IP) over VPN (Virtual Private Network), Beijing/Shanghai, China
Implemented sophisticated VoIP solutions over VPN (Virtual Private Network) which was based on ISDN or ADSL service between Branch offices. It was secured with the best encryption and security measures now available.
Internet traffic load sharing, Beijing, China
Implemented layer-4 load-balancing by Enterasys SSR-2000 Multi-layer Switch. The Entersys SSR-2000 multi-layer switches which were used by ITBN support layer-3/4 load sharing for more than one IP next hop. Configured the multi-layer switches to forward the traffic from subscribers to different PAT enabled Internet gateways so that the Internet access traffic will be shared by different Internet uplinks.
