I know each local council has engineering department, and Road Design Team is under that department. Road design Team looking after the most of the design of the roads, but some of the design they do outsource to external designing company.

Egineering Department has Transport Engineer, Civil Design Engineer, Development Engineer and some technical officer - traffic etc

我在国内做了2年多交通规划，然后同一个公司international transfer过来，目前在悉尼做了不到1年，主要是做交通仿真模型。没做过道路和桥梁设计，路桥在国内可是肥差啊，我们做规划的拿的不到他们的十分之一。这届澳洲政府大力支持基础设施建设，你好好找工作，应该有机会。

借你吉言吧。但说实话你这种transfer的挺好啊，不像我还得从头再来。要面临的问题是语言、规范和设计软件的不同，障碍太多了，估计到时候也是employer拒绝我的理由吧

昨天忽然发现，原来珀斯的mining已经是惨不忍睹的局面了，认识了几个做mining有几十年经验的老头子，都是洋人，civil engineer出身，搞开矿的项目管理，失业6个月以上，现在状态是准备退休。

是听说mining cut挺狠的，不过我的同学很坚挺啊，大学在澳念得mining，现在还在岗位上呢，挺稳的

我今年年初职业评估时西澳civil engineering已经restricted，改评了transport engineering。不知道有没有前辈是transport engineer的，工作怎么样呢

这些老人都是被裁的对象的，工资很高，年纪很大，当然经验也很丰富就是。
希望Offshore engineering 不要再惨加了

我有鼻子

当初也想找路桥方面的工作，辛苦了将近一年也没动静。不过也可能跟我当初在国内做的内容太窄有关。

换位思考，本身土澳的交通土建市场就小，再加上建设过程拖的时间长（跟国内相比），导致产业链前段的规划、设计市场更小。

同样招人，如果是高端岗位，咱们没有相应的经验；如果是低端的，一样的薪水，人家感觉招个小鬼佬可能对职位的忠诚度更高。毕竟你从职位上来说，应该是over qualified。

但是也别灰心，国内干过的总比这边的小孩基础扎实，一旦入行上手还是很快的。

楼上的鼻子同学现在在做什么哪？听说路桥最近政府还是推了一些项目的。
话说连这里的中介都不干采矿的了，说改做商住的项目还有一些生意。
